Gifts for Gardeners

Everytime I look out of my window it seems as if the plants in the garden have grown a few centimetres. Unfortunately this also means weeding.
With mother's day around I thought it might be time for projects making gardening more fun and more stylish.
Here is my pick:

Starting at the bottom left and moving on clockwise:
  • Gardenders Apron by Kristie from OCD via Sew, Mama, Sew!
  • Bags for Seeds by Holly from holloughby
  • Fleece Boot Socks by Cherie from Studio Cherie via Sew, Mama, Sew!
  • Garden Apron Calli from Mahe It Do
  • Quilted Garden Tote by Alissa from Handmade by Alissa via Sew, Mama, Sew!
  • Selfmade Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub by Stephanie from Under the Table and Dreaming
  • Gardening Bucket Bag by Beccy from Wipster

Hoerkissen (music pillow)

There is nothing like a good find surfing the net on a boring tv evening.
Today I found a shop for Hoerkissen (music pillows). These pillows are simply meant to be birthday presents for several people I know. No more strangling with earbudcords.
Apparently this little company produces pillows with integrated speakers and plug-in possibilities for your music device. The pillows seem to be very comfortable and are made of high quality fabrics. I found many Echino fabrics among them.

The only handycap I can see with this product is its impracticality when there are other people around.

Something small for my sister

My little sister studies to become a violin teacher. I'm very proud of her because it takes a lot of talent and courage to choose this uncertain life over a job with regular working hours and paychecks.
Of course she needs teaching material and being a teacher myself I enjoy to supply her with some "nice" things for work. This time I managed to combine it with my new passion for sewing following this great tutorial at bloom. And this is the final product:

Please excuse the wonky seams.
Finally I could not stop myself from trying PicMonkey and played around with contrasts and colours (not to much):

I like the result very much.

Beginning

This is what spring is about.
This blog will be about everything the title suggests (and more). I love a good meal, I am new to sewing and I am interrested in a large variety of other aspects of life.
Here we go!
